The first time I did it, i didnt have a s or a c wrench. Then when I went to tighten it back up, i couldnt get my wrench in the top bolt cause the diaphram housing was too close to the head. Was a real PITA. I ended up buying "C" wrenches and they worked awesome. Saved lots of grief.

i just cut a cheapo wrench in half and welded it in a c because my c wrench wouldn't fit.

i went to snap on and 40 bucks later i walked away with an s bent wrench, made life alot easyer, was expensive

I just bought a somewhat cheap wrench and then used my blue tip wrench to fine tune it i now have a great pump wrench for 2 minuets work and a couple of bucks.

i bent 4 wrenches trying to get the right shape and either i mested up the head or i broke it,

No, they are 13 mm. The cheapest wrench you can get from Harbor Freight would be a good one to bend.

Yes 13mm is correct sometimes a well worn/sloppy half inch will work.
Put it in the vise and warm it you don't need it too hot and bend it the longer the wrench to start with the better.
Put one bend in it for an L or two if you want more of a U
