On my 1990, it seems like theres a lot of fluid, I dont know what it is that drips from the plastic tube near the oil pan. Its on the driver side of the engine compartment. I think it is a vent tube?? Is this normal?? It seems to be running fine.

 

That is the crankcase vent. Some oil will drip from there when you park the truck. As long as it's just a couple drips and not a puddle it's normal and nothing to be concerned about.

i figured it out, I think that I overfilled the oil when i changed it. Its all set now. Now my lift pump decided that it wants to leak, so i ordered a new one before it completly dies!

lo and behold, I actually made one sorta like the aftermarket, pricey item like the one pictured above a long time ago. Got tired of the drip on the driveway. Mine was inexpensive, but fully functional and clean looking. I bought pvc sprinkler fittings, brass fittings, and hose to make:
1.(1) 2"x2"x2" tee (all slip/glue on ends)
2. (1) 3/4" female thread to 2" slip bushing
3. (1) 1" female thread to 2" slip bushing
4. (1) 2" slip to 1/4" female thread bushing
5. 1/4" male thread petcock drain like the drain for your radiator. This threads onto piece number 4, and #4 will glue on to the tee portion of the tee fitting
6. 3/4" barbed coupling to tie into existing vent tube
7. about 3' of 3/4" oil resistant hose and 12" of 1" oil resistant hose
8. (1) 3/4" male thread to 3/4" barbed end (brass or plastic)
9. (1) 1" male thread to 1" barbed fitting (brass or plastic)

Add piece#6 to vent tube, tie in 3' of 3/4" tubing to extend vent tube into piece #8 which is connected to piece #2, which was glued into straight portion of tee fitting. The other end of the straight portion of the tee will get piece #3 glued on and piece#9 threaded on. From there push on the 12" of 1" hose. The tee portion of the tee fitting will point downwards, which catches the oil and holds it. You have to once in a while unscrew the petcock fitting and let the oil drain into a container. I no longer have an oily mess blowing towards the rearward parts of the truck, and driveway is clean. All I see coming out of the 1" hose is vapor/blowby gases. Sorry no pics. I mounted the contraption to the inside frame rail, directly under the middle part of the drivers side door. I used (2) 3" hose clamps screwed into the frame, and tightened the clamps around the tee fitting.
