dang those are extremely tight tolerences.
Maybe some 304 stainless, but thats hard on the CNC its got a whole lot better thermal coefficient then aluminium though. I wonder if they can bond those "apticote" coatings to stainless steel yet. I tell ya KTA did his homework on that setup.

Good info, and good work!

It seems to me that going to a larger plunger is better than going to a higher lift cam. The additional drive forces are the same for the same flow per angle of revolution, the cams are actually loaded less the more shallow they are, and the acceleration of the moving mass is less with the bigger plunger. That assumes that you can get the fuel you want with the 14mm head alone.

I had thought about trying to introduce regulated high pressure fuel into the housing through the return port -- it looked as though it would be pretty easy to do, and would keep timing and fuel supply volume maxxed. I don't run high rpm high hp, though, so it is not a mod I pursued.

Has anyone hooked up a case pressure monitor and logged pressure vs rpm vs hp?

BTW, I have a pump with the "half" AFC lever in it. Number on pump is:0 460 425 148 FWIW. Supposed to be from a 6bt in a 'dozer. Do we have an idea of how many different AFC levers & pins Bosch produced?

If any info from one of my pumps would be useful, please let me know.

Alec

No Daking. My problem is finding a used IP as I do not want mine to be messed up. But when I find it, in 24 hours I will be in the shop.

And yes, he says he can make them, just needs either the plans (or blueprints) or the actual piece itself. I would like a spare IP so not only do I have the camplate BUT I have a IP that I can break

okay jon, theres a guy on here by the name of ford69557ci and he has a 4mm and 4.5mm camplate, i tryed to get the BPs but the shop dont want to let it go, wonder why,

and for the rest of you you need to get on 1stgen.org and browse the threads, because your 4 months behind

feeding the case with an eletric pump is a waste of time because the min case pressure is 75psi and max is 275psi depends on rpms and pressure regulator, you have to feed the regular intake with 45psi to 60psi and that were you get the power, tryed and proven,

besides the 14mm head you cant make any more desent power unless you get a 4mm cam plate, you can do the dv's and pickup an extra 10cc = 20hp
the highest flowin pump so far is 520cc out of 6x20's injectors

Yep, I am on 1stgen.org. Go by oldestof11 there. I was just when ford said he was flowing 520cc outta 6x20's. Folks thats 2 hp for every cc. But alas, the front seal kept blowing. I think he needs volume and not pressure.

Ok, I finally got a call about my pump that I bought. I bought one about 3-4 weeks ago and the guy sent it by USPS Priority. Well he called yesterday and finally tracked it down to where it ended up. It is sitting in Rockford (45 mins away, USPS hub there) with Hazardous Material building. Evidently they smelled something (Ok, how did Rockford catch it and not somewheres up in MN?) and it is in a nice sized box and they put it on hold! Dont bother calling me guys, we did the leg work for you. Anyhoo, come the end of the week, I should have that puppy tore apart! WOOT!

I have not been able to find a 14mm head and rotor for a VE only 13mm plungers for a P-pump. And there is a 14mm P&b for p-pump...
