Vaccum Pump Troubles
Vaccum Pump Troubles
Well...................I took off the vaccum pump to do the seal job and found carnage!!!
Apparently the KDP wounded my VP gear. The shaft is bent slightly. Was wondering if anyone knew what all years would fit.
I have had the truck awhile and you cannot hear any weird sounds from the VP when it was running. How bad would it be to run this one until I get it replaced?

The vacuum pump will fit from 91.5 to 02. At least the rebuild kits are the same, and the 02 VP I helped rebuild looked identical to my 92.
If you get a used one, you can get the seal kit from Cummins for <$10.

Actually they changed the pumps a couple times. They are similar and will bolt on, but I would get a pre-'97 pump. The later pumps are only designed to run the HVAC and cruise, not the brake booster.
