Leaking Vaccum Pump

My vaccum pump has developed an oil leak and im in the process of replacing my injection pump, so I figured this might be a good time to remove the vaccum pump (if needed) to fix the oil leak. I read somewhere that listed an oil seal or o-ring and part number that is needed to fix the leak, this info would be helpful. And also, what is required to fix the leak, do I even need to remove the pump? Do I need to completely take it apart? Any info would be helpful.
PS: truck is a 2000
Thanks

I just did mine today. It isn't that hard to do. All that you have to do is unhook the hoses on the vaccum pump and take three bolts out that hold it to the block. It would be much faster to do now that I know how to do it, but things are always like that. It took me 3-4 hours, but I also was changing my oil. There is a kit that you can get that has everything that you need with some pretty good instructions included. You could get the seals from Cummins, the seal kit # 4089742. Or you could get the whole seal kit from http://www.fixinrams.com/index.html

This is the instructions I used for my 2000.

Click

You can get a seal from an industrial supply house or get the kit from Cummins. Someone earlier posted the he got a kit from them for under $10.00. If you go to a supply house the seal size is 28x38x7 and make sure it's made of Viton material, the other ones won't take the heat.

It's not too hard and should be easier if the IP is off the truck.

Go here for your Cummins seal kit for $7.08 with instructions for seal replacement http://www.hoeslidiesel.com./specials.htm I changed out my seals with this kit and found I had to reuse the large O ring since the new one was a bit thiner. Also I had my radiator out for a cleaning (from the oil vent bottle) and found it super easy to separate the vac pump from the Power Stearing unit on the truck. What I mean is the PS unit DOES NOT have to be unhooked from the truck. Good Luck
