Trans was making noise going home (at first I thought the engine was letting go!), got louder and louder, then could feel it in the stick in 5th. The rest of the gears feel fine.


5th probably started spitting teeth or something. the gear may have been weakened the two times the nut backed off before I put on the permanent fix collar (assuming it is the gear).


I have a spare NV4500 (2x2) that I can yank the gear out of if that it all it is.
