Two problems (Loosing vacuum/wipers)
Hello folks. I grew up and live in central Texas are am not used to ice on my vehicles. I even had to chip out my tools and parts from the back of my truck to fix a broken house water line.
The other day I drove home while it was misting. I turned the truck off but not the wipers. Four days later it rains and freezes. I start the truck up, turn the defrost on to loosen up the ice which has the wipers stuck in the middle of the windshield. I didn't think anything of it and walked away. Well, guess what? The intermittent function will not work now. The other functions do work. Where is the problem? The switch on the column, the motor, or somewhere in between? All help appreciated.
Next problem;
Loosing vacuum either in the booster or the vacuum pump. Pedal gets hard, brake light illuminates. I pump up the RPM and light goes out, brakes feel normal. Any ideas on where to start, or how to test the booster, vac. lines, vac. pump?
Again, all help appreciated

Sounds like the intermittent module is toast.
To test the vacuum system, get a hand vacuum pump/gauge setup (Mityvac or Harbor Freight knock-off), disconnect the vacuum line from your vacuum pump and start sucking. Work upstream until the system holds, then replace the stuff that didn't hold.

For your booster/ power assist, I'd check the vacuum lines and look for cracks, dry-rot, etc. Next step is to test vacuum at the pump. Not sure what the book calls for as a minimum, but my 92 pulls 25inHg at idle.

The module is under the dash to the right of the column.
Just follow the hoses. When you come to a tee, try one side and then the other. You will find the bad part pretty fast.
