have you pulled the exhaust pipe off and the air intake off and checked for bad bearings/ worn out turbo?

is the paint on the under side of the hood, look burnt like its getting really hot? the paint isn't that good to begin with, mine has all those bubbles and the paint has big flake off spots, now you can see the primer under the stock paint.

Can't tell by looking at the outside unless there's a big chunk missing.

Pull the air cleaner hose off the turbo. If you see oil in the turbo, that's bad,. If it is clean and dry in the turbo, try to wiggle the shaft side to side. If you can't make the wheel hit the housing, the side play is OK. Next try to pull and push the shaft front to rear. If you feel ANY play whatsoever, that's bad.
