You're an excellent candidate for the 12cm wastegated housing Waldo. It'll feel like you bought a new truck It's really the only housing that makes sense with the 5 speed...by the time you have enough fuel to overcome the 12w/g, you'll have wayyy too much for a 16 or even 18...and will be looking to step up to a completely different turbo anyway.

With a wastegated housing you can regulate max boost and keep the compressor on the map. With a non-gated housing your at the mercy of your fuel settings and you right foot, with enough fuel it would be pretty easy to put the turbo into orbit.

Will the 12cm w/g housing work with my stock turbo on my 92 or do I need a new turbo also? What is the difference between the h1c and the wh1c turbo?
Thanks

It will bolt right up to the turbo. The only difference between the H1C and WH1C's that where used on these trucks that I'm aware of is the WH1C has a map enhancing slot cut in the compressor housing and the W stands for wastegated.

It required welding on the 3to4 in adaptor (pic in my gallery) but I think Stan`s (don`t know the URL) comes ready to install.

Does anybody know the URL or company or anything for "Stan's" 4" downpipe? I'd really like to get a hold of one. Thanks!

That was it! I appreciate it. $185 for just a downpipe, but it could be worth it.

The 12 cm will be better for you. I went from a 21 to a 12 and it was like getting a new truck.

When I finally get one is there any fuel adjustments I have to to such as going from a lift pump tp a piston pump? I'v have been reading this thread about where to get them but I can't seem to find one with a w/g .
Thanks

You don't need a piston pump until you have big injectors, the stock pump can keep up with the little injectors on a '92. No need to tune the injection pump if you don't want to, just changing the turbine housing will make the truck much more responsive.

A 16 cm would be an improvement over the 21 cm you have. It won't be as quick as the 12 cm, but it will be much better than that awful 21 cm.

It will help, you'll probably notice it more if you have the 21cm housing. I didn't really notice it on my truck when I went from a 18cm to a 16cm. The WH1C with the 12cm wastegated that wannadiesel sold me made a huge difference, that and it was already portmatched and had the divider drilled so I didn't have to do it.
