Turbine houseing question

I am contemplating swapping the turbine housing on my 1989 stock turbo. Should I put a 14cm or a 12cm? What are the ups and downs of both. Thanks!

I have had both on my 92. The 12cm came on fast (especialy compared to the factory 21cm) bilt more bost but EGTs came up a little. The 14cm was not quite as fast but close but ran a little cooler. But I also had POD's, and lots of pump mods. then I went to an HX-35 14cm and it ran grate but now i'm going with a HX-35/40 hybrid so that I can keep my 14cm. I was not a fan of hybrids but I found out that the shaft and exhaust wheel are the same size, (the compressor wheel will bolt right on). In short you will love the 12cm or the 14cm I ran both with the wastgate wired shut just watch your boost H1C-30psi max recominded HX-35-36psi HX-40-40psi more than that you are super heating the air and it is becoming thin and will have less oxogen in a given volume. Especialy on a non-intercooled.

The 89 already has a 18 not a 21, why i said not a massive differance. Money be better spent getting a turbo.

Ya I agree definitely don't get a 14, they cost way to much compared to a whole hx-35 with a 12cm. If you don't want to go to serious then just buy a used hx-35 with the 12cm and it will be much better
