truck idled too high after pump adj

A little history,Installed pyro and boost gauge.Adjusted timing about 1/8" ,adj smoke screw.both of these adj were done awhile back with no problems. Turned the fuel pin/cone 90 deg cw,and tried to turned the star wheel 1 1/2 turns cw, but it would only turn 1 turn.I'm ALMOST certain no one has been in the pump before.but not sure. anyway when I cranked the truck it idled fine untill I pressed the peddle.then it reved up and wouldnt go back down.I don't have a tach but I just barly pressed the peddle so anyway I shut the truck down and put everything back where it was.Why did it idle up like that? Thanks,Bob

You didn't touch the fuel screw on the backside of the pump???

Sounds like it was trying to runaway which only happens when you mess with the fuel screw AKA "power screw"

is it still idled up after turning it back? If you didn't touch the fuel screw on the back of the pump like Crossy's Son said, then perhaps your linkage is a little goofed up?

if you touched the linkage, I'm betting it was hanging up a little.

Damon, you mentioned linkage?I did change the linkage to the hole closest to the engine a few weeks back.per video.I first readjusted it like I used to do on my race car.Have someone or thing mat the gas peddle and while it's floored, with the engine off pull the throttle under the hood as far as it will go and that where you adjust it to.well that did't work on the truck so I adjusted it from idle position and it's been working fine.
