Question Trouble with injectors? Dont think its the turbo?

OK first off my truck started poping and smoking blue when pulling. Wont build boost but when you backout of it it runs fine til the next hill then poping and smoking til you back out of it again. Pulled the intake hose turbo spins free with no slack imp. looks fine. pulled intecooler hose by the intake clean as a whistle no oil whatever. So im going to rule out the turbo. Number 1 injector has been slobbering the very least bit, a little wetness around it. Checked oil and water both fine. Fuel pressure 5 lbs. Could this be the filter? Kind of doubt it. Never heard of one making a poping sound and smoking. PLZ Help lost and confused.

Sounds like a fuel starvation problem. Start at the lift pump and work your way to the injectors.
Fuel filter
Manual shut off lever
Fuel shut off solenoid
Fuel pin
AFC boost tube

Not sure if ours popped or not but i know we had an almost plugged filter and it would start missing and wouldn't hardly get up out of its own way. Filters cheap compared to injectors might as well throw one on anyways.

You need to check for an air leak in the fuel system on the suction side, before the lift pump. When they pull air they often do exactly what you describe. Search for air leak or air in fuel, there are a zillion threads.

Problem solved!!!! Was the fuel filter either sucking air or stopped up. I suspect it started sucking air. Did the fuel heater and water sensor delete, replaced with luberfiner filter and all is well.
