I dont think i am seeing the full outcome of the power of my truck
I dont think i am seeing the full outcome of the power of my truck
I have the cummins b 370 injectors, 191 dv, stock turbo, wastegate clamped, starwheel is turned up, no fuel plate, intake, 5" exhaust, hitting 42 lb. boost, south bend clutch, 37" tires, 3000 gsk, i think that is it as far as performance but at 5000 ft. i dyno 360 hp. and 920 ft/lb. is that common for those mods or should i be seeing more out of it? truck has 190k miles on it and my timing is stock what do you guys reccomend for timing let me know what you guys think someone else did these mods besides the intake and exhaust so i dont know if they are all done right but it smokes a lot so i know i got some power mods let me know what you guys think
you need more turbo, your stock turbo running at 42psi is out of its efficiencey range, with a stock hx35, you dont want to see more then 35psi of boost, past this point you are creating heat, more boost does not mean more power. I am not sure where you should be at power wise, but i dont think that you are too far off from what the dyno read. The guys with the 12v will be of more help to you then I, but it seems like you are throwing alot of fuel at that turbo. Do you have an auto or standard?

Tires are killing you!!! Throw some stock size tires on and then dyno.....you'll be amazed

I would say that you are lacking air pretty good. I would limit the boost on the stock turbo to 35 psi though, to get back in it optimum boost range. A better suited turbo will help keep things cooler, and make more power if it is smoking badly. Someone I sure will offer there thoughts on that particular matter ( i'm not a turbo guru).
One more thing, I would get a plate in the pump ASAP. There have been pumps ruined by running with no plate, due to an internal pin that shears off. If you like the way it fuels right now a "0" plate would be great for you.
As far as timing, I would set it a 16* this should be great for your setup. Hope some of this is helpfull.

i have a standard hence the south bend clutch and i know the turbo is over boosting but i cant figure out how it is clamped it might just be stuck im not sure but im lookin at the silver bullet or an sps 66 what is the stock timing on a 12v and how much more do you think i will gain with stock tires?
