25 psi @ idle TOO Much???

I just plumbed my stock lp in line with my aeromotive and Im seeing 25 psi at Idle, WOT doesnt matter CUZ I waiting on the Drag Comp to get here, Ill know more about WOT after that.

Is 25 Too much at idle, Ive heard yes and no.

If it is I can contact Aeromotive and ask how to regulate to pump back a few psi.

Thanks,
Jamie

I put in a holley blue and had 40 at idle, cut pressure spring and now at 25 at idle and no less than 17 at WOT. I think it is fine.

The IP is designed to run below 14psi, thats what the bypass valve is set at.
If it's hard on the IP diaphram to run low pressure, why wouldn't high pressure be just as bad!

Timvinia has been running a 12v lift pump and has a 40+psi at for quite sometime. I haven't heard that he's had a IP seals issue. I run a fass pump, I have 16psi at idle and 13psi at WOT with no issues.

40#'s?????????????? WOW!!!!! I don't think I would ever do that. I'm convinced that anything over 25 will trash the diaphram and cause hard starts or worse. 20 is all you need.

I had 40 psi to mine for 2 weeks and had no issues at all, but after a little rsearch figure it would eventually kill it i dropped it to 25 and like i said it is not hurt a thing and runs fine, and no hard starts.

II recommends 10-20 psi.

I've been running 30 psi for about a year with no ill effects. Granted my fuel pressure is measure at the inlet side of fuel filter canister. My guess there should be a pressure loss before reaching the vp44. Higher is better on modified trucks IMHO...

when I saw the title of this, I thought "man, the launches must be incredible with that much boost at idle, but it's GOT to be restrictive at higher RPM..."

Members have been talking for yrs about the possibilty of damaging seals, diaphram, etc. if you run high fuel pressures. I have yet to read about anyone that lost a VP-44 within 6 months or a yr of running up to 30 psi!

Same with hard starts... lots of conjecture and assumptions, but no hard facts, AFAIK!
