Transmission ?? going towing
No Dexron
>>>If you want firmer shifting for this thing use Ford type "F" in it or Dexron
type II, then put in about 2-3 liters of straight nondetergent 30W oil. It works well, gives firmer shifts and the 30W provides lubrication for VB components.<<<
No dodge auto should use dexron. Chrysler TSB number 21-006-01

All this talk about transmissions got my curiousity up to no good. I went to my local NAPA Friday and bought a 24oz. bottle of Lucas transmission Treatment and put it in my 727. That junk works somewhat. It is viscous enough to actually be felt. The shifts are a little firmer and the TC either is pulling harder or the bands are locking in better. I am not a fan of a "mechanic in a can" but some of that stuff seems to help. Still it isn't a fix, just something to mask the symptom. I am looking at some overtime in the late spring and plan on a tranny mod. and TC upgrade with the extra money. Goerand Bros. have given some advice on a low stall converter that I am anxious to try. A new valve body and a thorough flushing is also in order. A buddy of mine has a nice wheel lift in his garage that he says I can use, so that should make for a better job of it.
