I am sure my temp problem was a bad convertor now. I tookl the trans out friday night and it took us about three hours from the time I shut it off till we got it out. We took a dinner break and a few beer breaks and when we got it out the convertor was still too hot to touch. That should not be that hot for that long should it? I wanted to hit it with my temp gun but it was in the truck that was up on the lift and I was too lazy to let it down.

Seriously that's not a way to determine if you had a bad convertor.

It was stalling to 2600 rpm also. That was not my only means if determining the problem

Almost all the coolers I can find that say 1/2" are 1/2" female NPT connections. Is that the right size? (does that mean the actual ID of the fitting will be 1/2"?)

Also, how does installation of the lines go - can I just disconnect that little factory one? Can I leave it in for a little extra cooling? Are barbed fittings and hose acceptable?

I cut the line that goes to the cooler and flipped it to face backwards.

Thanks for the pics, good to know it's simple. Teflon pipe tape won't get eaten by oil?

IT WILL!!! i think he used thread sealer, there is a hydraulic grade of that stuff.

The fittings on mine at the cooler had o-rings. I did use some teflon on the fittings that went together. Never had leaks.
