trans cooler idea

Has anyone run a deep pan, and put a couple fittings in it and set up a small pump of some sort to run into a cooler mounted under the bed? I know where I can pick up a hydraulic oil cooler or two cheap, and it wouldn't divert any flow away from the existing circuit. I could also set up a couple sensors to kick the pump on at a certain temp, then fan(s) on at another. Any thoughts?

I think Dodge had the same idea! It was a factory option!

Summit and JEGs have ones by Derale or something like that I'm gonna use. $140 has thermostat, fan, and cooler. Use it in series with your stock cooler, not parallel to the side. and make sure it has at least AN 8 (3/8") fittings

Are you talking for an automatic or a manual transmission?
You would need to get a scavenger pump that would be able to handle fluids above 300* to survive, either a mechanical,

Or an electric

pump, if it is going to be in series with the factory circuit then it would have to be at least 1/2" lines throughout but if it was going to auxillary circuit then 3/8" lines would be ok however you would still want to keep the factory lines intact.

On my car I used to have remote oil coolers on both my manual transmission and my differential.

Yes, an automatic. My thinking was that by running the deep pan and plumbing into it I could set up a separate circuit from what is there. It would circulate the oil out of and back into the pan.

I didn't know about the optional auxiliary cooler when we got it and I don't remember seeing it. But with this busted up knee I can't exactly crawl under it to check real well. What my thought was I could set up three stages of cooling, one the pump turn on, second is one fan, third is the other fan.

I think I am eventually going to run gears somewhere around 3.55s and a gear vendors. I think it has 4.10s now. Top speed is about 65. It's an 89 with 235/85R16s.
