if you have the trac lok posi out of the truck can you turn the spider gear with your hand? because i bought a trac lok and i cant spin the spider gears.. does that mean i need to rebuild it?

 

You shouldn't be able to turn them by hand. If you could it would mean the clutches are shot. make sure you run the limited slip addative when you get it in.

nope the spider gears with clutches behind them is what "limits the slip" if you will. by making it harder for the spider gears to turn it make the wheels both want to spin the same speed. when you pull the stock one it should be very easy to move the spider gears that the difference in them. the weight of the truck and leverage of the tires will get them to move at different speeds going around a corner. it sounds to me like it's doing what it should.
