So I was thinking of getting a tonneau covers for my truck.


Was wondering which brand is good and how much is definitely a factor. Hoping to get one for under 200 is that possible??

I like the ones with the velcro not snaps i know i can look at summit or anywhere just wondering what some of you guys liked??

Ebay has some on there pretty cheap. Not sure of the quality of them though

 

I've always had Access roll-up covers. They are spendy but worth every penny IMO.

I don't suggest the velcro or snapon ones. I like the ones that have a long j hook and kinda roll over the lip for a nice tight weather proof seal. I forget the name brand sorry. just forget about putting it on in the winter.

 

I've been running an "Extang Tuff Tonno III" for several years. They use a "J" hook attachement system that allows the entire tonneau to slide a little to increase tension. It's held up great and I'd buy another in an instant. It's a much better system than the snap or velcro versions (which Extang also offers, just so ya know)

I second the Extang, been good to me so far.....I did alot of research before buying one and Extang came up over and over.

 

I want to put a cover on my truck, but I have stacks and a tool box. Was wondering exactly how long a short box is, and if a short box cover would work. I do not believe these boxes get narrower toward the back of the bed.

The last tonnau cover I used was an Extang brand job. Previous covers were a bear if you needed to haul something and couldn't get under it. In cold weather it was nearly impossible to recover the bed. The Extang I used had an aluminum frame and two levers that rotated under the side of the bed. Rotate them in and life the cover and it would hinge at the front. Really handy for stuff you wanted to keep people from getting a "five finger discount". It helped a little on fuel mileage too. Mainly I just liked the clean look it gan=ve to an older rather battered truck.
