time to replace these OE inj.

Hey guys and gal.

Am looking for some advice on inj. My mods are in the sig.First Im pretty happy with my power output, truck will get hot if I lay into it up hills while pulling.Ive learned to shift into 4th and play with the boost #'s from 25 to 30 psi to keep my egts under control on the long pulls.

The OEM inj have about 280,000 miles on them and im sure they could stand to be replaced.Plus I plan on running w80 fuel blend and am concerned with the stock inj. coaking up on me.Figured it would be wise to swap new inj first.I also plan on runnin water inj. to help keep things clean in there.

I may upgrade to a he351cw down the road but for now I am pretty content with the hx35.

What size of injector would y'all reccomend for my set up?Lookin for a lil more power, the truck is a work horse not a play truck I pull about 18k with it.

Sure appreciate any help or info on my injector choice.

I would just have the stock injectors reconditioned.

Couldn't hurt. Really there is not much to go wrong in the injectors. The will test the pop pressure, and adjust them all to factory specs. And maybe a tip or two might need replacing.

Get a quote from your local diesel shop and see what they say about a reconditioning.

I would get the 190 injector set, a little extra power over stock injectors

Having the 250k mile ones on my 2nd gen done now. Some have gone much longer without issues, but it seems like one of those "your mileage may vary" things. Pop pressures were way down and tips were dirty. I debated getting larger/ more powerful injectors, but I just couldn't talk myself into it when I don't have my pump maxed anyway. The place doing mine is sonic cleaning everything, and resetting the pop pressure, then retesting everything. They told me to look forward to smoother operation, and less egt up top. $45.00 a piece for the service in Ohio. Good luck.

I just put in a set of 7x10 sacs from CPP on a bone stock engine. Smoked and ran like a scalded dog. Bumped the timing an 1/8 inch and the smoke is gone, very slight loss in launch with a low stall converter. Haven't checked the numbers yet, but it's real obvious the mileage is improved also. I think it'll be a bit better when I go at the air box with a hole saw.

Jamie's 7x10 sacs are custom edm'd tips, with a better angle than most sacs. If you get a set from him, round up a good set of cores to send him. Took him 2 1/2 months to find a set for me, and 2 of those were bad. Tips were fine, but the bodies leaked. Sent cores and bad ones to him, and he turned them around quickly.

He's a bit flustered at the moment, with Natasha gone on vacation.

With more fuel, the turbo turns up quickly, and I get good acceleration.

So im leaning toward the bosch 190 inj. Doing some reading on the web about these, sounds like I need some adapters? to put them in my 93 i/c truck.

Any more advice on this decision?

Rock, Hi, im in Wenatchee. I see injectors as my next step too. I want to be sure the spray pattern is right. fuel mileage is good, and of course power! There used to be a sheet here years ago that compared injectors but I cant find it. I'll lurk around on your thread here and see what I can learn.

Howdy dave,I understand the 190's will give me alil more power.Im pretty content with my power right now,my custom ground fuel pin really made a differance...maybe to much.Yu really got to drive the truck when hauling or you will melt her down.

Im pulling out the ground fuel pin and useing the stock pin before I swap any inj. in her.I want to run WMO in it now and just thought it would be smart to put new inj. in her before I run the oil through the system(wife gave me the green light to buy new inj so Im doin so)im afraid the old inj will coke up quick runnin the WMO.After I get it all tuned I plan on running a water injection system in order to fight EGT's and to do some steam cleaning in the combustion chambers and injector tips??? theory seems good??

Im a newb, hopeing for some good advice...

I think the adapters were to put those injectors
into a non IC head, pre 91

Dont think you need adapters in your case.
