battery cables

battery cables
Both of my battery cables are cracked where they connect to the battery causing erratic starts. Does anyone know what the lengths are on them? Also what ends are better? The lead type or the other one? Not sure what its called but its all metal and has a couple nuts and bolts to hold it on.
