For those who have swapped A518 to G360

All I need to know is, are the driveshafts the same length? I know they G360 rear drive shaft bolts to the t-case instead of a slip in like the 518. What about the front shaft, is there a difference? My truck has brand new front and rear drive shafts and if I can retain them for the most part I would like to instead of having new ones made.

i did one and i had to get the front shortned i think 1.5 inches. I had to get my rear shortened also becuase i thought i had a reg cab 8 ft bed but it ended up being a cab/chassis driveshaft. i think that was 2 inch cut off.

I have standard cab 4x4's in 518 and getrag config, I'll see if I can get you some rough measurements tomorrow. As far as a slip yoke in a t case behind a 518 for the rear driveshaft, both of mine have a fixed yoke just like the getrags, the slip joint is on the driveshaft.

I need the lengths on a club cab with a Getrag. That's what my truck is but I believe the truck the stuff is coming out of is a standard cab. I am getting the driveshafts with the trans so the front won't be an issue, just the rear. I just wanted to get whatever driveshaft snags out of the way so when I go to do it, I can just slam it together. I could have sworn the last trans I did, the drive shaft slid into the t-case. Maybe I'm wrong though. Thanks for the help guys.

If the truck you're doing this to is the one w/ the lift in your sig you might be better off measuring them after the swap is done. Having a driveshaft altered/made shouldn't take long if you have a good local shop.

Yeah we have at least 2 descent rig shops that do great drive shaft work. And yes it is the lifted one, the other one has a 47RH to go in. I think you are probably right on doing after the trans is in. Thanks.

on my single cab 4x4, i had to lengthen my rear driveshaft by 4.5 inches. i kept the front driveshaft off of the donor truck.
