Tempture Gage
Tempture Gage
Hi Guys, I don't post too much here but come and read the post and do a search if I am having a problem with my 93 truck.
So here is the problem, my temperature gage varies from the line just above the C as in cold to close the mid part of the gage. When I first noticed this happing I checked the coolant it was ok and the radiator did not feel excessively hot.
Just to be on the safe I replaced the thermostat with one from the cummings dealer. The problem persisted so I replaced the water temperature sensor, that did not help either.
The one change that I have noticed is that the heater seem to get warmer and you need to back off on the heater temperature lever. The truck does not appear to be over heating.
Could there be a voltage regulator for the temp. gage that might be acting up?
I purchased this truck four years ago with 53K on it and I now have 81K. As far as I know every thing is stock from the factory.
My searches did not turn up any discussions on this type of problem but my searches generally don't work any way.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Any thoughts on why this is acting this way. This has just started last Oct. before that the gage had a would go to a certain spot on the gage and sit there , if I was pulling the boat up a hill on a hot the temp gage would increase and I could hear the fan kick in.
i need a real gauge, sometimes i will turn off my truck the gauge goes all the way up, only when i turn the key off. How much is a new 91.5-93 crossflow?Im guessing in the 300-400 range.
