TC replace on a 727 REALLY a good idea???

I definetly wouldn't consider a 47RH an upgrade to a 727. The 727 is not only the best automatic Dodge ever built, it's one of the best automatics ever built period, they've used them in funny cars,monster trucks, and anything else that you can think of. For some reason once the auto manufacturers started using overdrives on their transmissions, they killed their reliability in the process. Stick with it and if you ever want more, go with a Gear Vendors overdrive.

I had the chance to ride in a truck with a pretty stout 47rh in it and I really liked the way it shifted and I like the fact that you can cruise down the highway at 90mph and still be at a low rpm. I do agree that the 727 is a great trans but its also nice to be able to hit a button or flip a switch and drop the R's way down. Plus the mpg factor is another plus for me.
