Tach question........

I have a few extra Sunpro tachs sitting in the garage and was wondering if it were possible to hook up to my crank sensor somehow. Since ther sitting there I figured its worth a shot.

You can try them on the factory tach harness. A couple of people have gotten cheap gasser tachs to work. Can't hurt nothin' to try.

I think dakota digital makes a converter box so you can run one. I'm not positive it would work and I don't think it is cheap, but it might be worth looking up. http://www.dakotadigital.com/

Its a flat 4 wire black plug. It will be located on the left side of the steering column. If your lucky it is in plain sight. If not its taped up behind the light switch somewhere.

Your stock crank sensor is feed 5 volt power from the PCM. I dought if those super tach's will read a 5 volt signal. Mine wouldn't.

A few people have got lucky and got auto tach's to work. The ones that have I would bet the 5 volt regulator in the PCM is defective and overvolting the circuit.
