Switched 12 V power for pyro guage?

I have everything hooked up but can't seem to find the right wire to connect to for switched on power for the electrical guage. I have tried the big red wires that go the the igniton switch. The guage sort of works except the needle bounces all over the place and acts real wierd. Help I'm electrically challenged!

I hooked mine to the power supply for the radio but I am going to change the location to the power window. Take your fuse box down and look at the markings that tell you what the fuse is for then remember where that port is located, flip the box over and use your test light to see if it has power with the key off if so move on to the next untill you get one where there is no power with the key off. turn the key on and test agian. the hot side should have a spade connector that is tied in to a couple of different fuse locations. P.S put the ground for the pyro directly on the engine I put mine on the crossover tube with another ground. I made the mistake of putting it on a body ground and it bounced all over the place. Hope this helps and good luck. Ryan

Pyro needs a good ground. Mine settled down after I ran a ground from the VR to the exhaust manifold

I fixed it!

Thanks for your help everybody. It was the ground. I had used a ground under the dash that had other stuff on it. Than I changed it to the main ground off the negative terminal on the battery and it calmed right down. I never knew the type of ground would affect it that much.

For eveybody's information here are my findings after a test drive of about 20min. The truck had sat idling for quite awhile first so I took it easy only for about 15 min than let her have it. Thanks to my exhaust I only hit 900 if I stay in it right through 3rd( I don't like flooring it in OD) my boost hits about 22-23 at gear changes then settles back down to an even 20psi. As suspected the 21cm housing doesn't bring on boost until late in the throttle. Cruising around the guage barely registers anything, although you can hear it all the time. You really have to get into it. Obviously there's room for more fuel. None the less, I am pleased that I have very controlled EGT. Now I just have to hook up my trans. temp. guage as soon as I find the part to hook it up. Any suggestions?

I can see the need for a better turbo since the EGT does climb MUCH faster than the boost which will be a concern when towing.
