You got any parts left over? I need a compressor outlet elbow.

There is a thread from yesterday called " new truck confusion". If you look at the pic in the guys gallery it shows the blue line coming from his wastegate and where it is connected.

My boost gauge is in the port Loch posted about, so I just installed a tee there. I used a piece of 1/4" steel brake line to go along the crossmember under the motor. Now I've got 2 tees, one for the water/meth boost signal and one for the wastegate. It's a plumbers nightmare under there now.

You can also tap into the compressor housing or the elbow that comes off the compressor. Some Hx35's have a plug in them for this purpose, and the elbow has a boss that will fit a 1/8 pipe thread elbow or nipple.

ok, what would happen if i did not hook it up to anything would the wastegate not open or would you get no boost? i guess i do not understand how exactly that diaphragm works. and how exactly a waste gate works considering everything is after the exhaust fins.

The waste gate is a valve inside the turbine housing which allows some of the exhaust to bypass the turbine. When sufficient boost is generated the pressure operates the diaphram which opens the WG and therefore it limits the maximum boost. If you don't hook up the WG pressure line it could result in overspeeding the turbo and blowing something up like a head gasket or an exploding turbo. Not a plesant thought. There are no stupid questions BTW.

Depending on how much fuel you have you may be fine without hooking up the wastegate. As long as you can keep it below 35 psi you won't hurt anything. The compressor is happier at 30 psi so EGT may be lower there, though.

I have the 12cm wg housing and hx 35, I have the actuator bolted up to the housing, but the pressure line is not hooked up. I only get about 27lbs of boost, the wastegate does not open. Also, the rod coming out of the actuator can be adjusted, I shortned mine a little so the wastegate itself could not open very far if it was hooked up.
