Stripped allen heads on pump top.. HELP!

Ok so the little pin that rides on the fuel pin is leaking.. no big deal I'll just pull the top of the pump off and replace the O-ring. Wrong! The bottom left and upper right allen heads that hold the pump top on stripped out. How in the world do I get them out?

get an oversized torx and beet it in there. then back it out. or buy the grab it kit you see on tv. but try the torx trick first.

Vise grips might work, but I do believe they are 5MM so, try a 5.5mm and pound it in.. Or try the torx bix deal.... LAst resort, drill the head off then when you get the pump top off it.. It will inscrew easily..

If you can get a Dremel in there, you can use a cut off wheel to make the Allen heads into flatheads. I had to do this on the Torx head bolts that hold the pump head on. A big flathead screwdriver worked great to break the bolts loose.

The head that hides under the throttle linkage is now biggie... I'm worried about the one that sits up close to the head with the pump top partially blocking it, making it impossible to fit anything in there to work on it. How much does the pump drop down towards the fender if you undo the bolts holding it onto the timing cover.

The bottom left and upper right allen heads

isnt that always the case when stuff strips they all come except two and there uselly kitty corner from eachother

but yes vise grips and grinding a grove for a flat head works well

Enough to drill the head off the bolt. BTDT.

ok, just ordered the snap-on pump wrench (I lack the fabrication skills to make my own). Gonna try my hand at the dremel on thursday when I'm done with tests. If that doesn't work out, then I'll do it over spring break.

I have a return system setup running the leaking diesel back to the fuel tank for right now, so I shouldn't be wasting any fuel, just not using it all efficiently!

Thanks for everybody's advice!

Use an Easy Out and tap it into the damaged Allen socket then you can use a wrench and back out the stripped bolt.
Or you can use a left-handed drill bit and drill out the head and it will usually unscrew it out.
