What exactly stripped was it the inside of the allen due to improper size or is it actually turning in the pump housing

What you could try is to LIGHTLY pry up on the case and try loosening the bolt. Sometimes you can get enough pressure to get the bolt past the stripped threads. If it doesn't feel like its coming loose stop and drill the head off.

Things that come to mind:
1. easyout
2. drill head off then remove stub with vicegrips
3. walk it out with a small chisel
4. cut a slot across the head and use a bit screwdriver

I've used the chisel method with good results....also used a small plastic hammer and a torx head socket that's just a little bigger than the allen opening with equally good results. Seems the aluminum reacts well to a gentle tap-tap.
