Question Strange noise when in reverse

Hey guys, I need a little help here if you don't mind. I recently installed a pyrometer and boost gauge on the truck. Shortly afterward I have a strange tapping noise whenever I put the truck in reverse. I wouldn't think that installing the gauges would cause the noise but stranger things have happened I guess.

Any ideas?

It only does it in reverse? Moving or stopped in reverse? Not in any of the forward gears?

It could be the start of a flex plate cracking, but that's just 1 thought.

Hopefully someone else has some ideas.

Only in reverse. If I turn the wheel before I back up it makes the same sound. Very strange...

First, I would have 2 people stand outside the rig and then backup. They would be able to tell if the noise is coming from the front or rear and which side. Did you recently take the spare out from under the bed? Is the exhaust loose??

Lot's of different things but would have to know approx where the noise actually is.

By driving the truck I can tell it's on the passanger side, under the hood, near where the turbo is located or lower. I'm thinking the exhaust might be tapping against something, but it seems to be tight.
