Stan's is on!

The day finally came yesterday for me to install my Stan's system. Long story short, the system fits great but like some have mentioned there's a union right beside the back of the transfer case and you have to cut/grind the clamp to get it to fit in there. Even then it's still touching the case and frame. Also, I couldn't get the tailpipe hanger I relocated to weld to the pipe so I'm gonna take it to a shop tomorrow and have it welded on. Right now it's just got some wire holding it to make sure it doesn't fall off(clamps are tight) I'll also probably see if they can remove the clamp by the case and partially weld it instead. Aside from that darn clamp, there's plenty of room for the system to get by the transfer case. I had to be careful to make sure the second pipe was positioned/rotated properly so it wouldn't get smacked by the front drive shaft as the front suspension compresses. I opted to install the muffler seeing how it is a true straight-through design. The sound is obviously quieter than none but louder than stock. I'm really pleased with the sound as most of the annoying drone/resonance that the 3" straight-pipe made under boost is gone.
Here are some pics I took of the old/new with my new Samsung R500(Alltel Hue) phone(1.3mp)

Entire system

Downpipes

Transfer case sections-stock piece looks like they beat the crap out of it!

Tailpipes-again, no restriction here on the stock piece!!

I paid $530($480 for system) shipped from Back Country Binders in Bremerton, WA.

One other thing I immediately noticed on the drive back to town, I gained about 1 psi of boost on the top end!

Question Interference in 2wd?

Is there any fit issues on the 2wd trucks? Or is the above described tight fit only on the 4X4's cause of the Tcase?

I'm picking up one of Stan's systems in the spring for the D350 in my sig. The stock system is a little "Hole'y" but will be fine till the weather warms up.

Just the TC issues I believe. I bought a different system, around $300 and built my own 4" dp....of course, Im down to only 2' or so of the system I bought, what with putting straight piece through the mid section, own downpipe, and stacks.

I had a question, when buying the Stan's 4" complete system they claim to give you all the mounting parts and clamps with the piping. Given that do they utilize a 4" exhaust clamp in the same exact spot as the factory clamp for the lower end of the downpipe where it is held on by a transmission bellhousing bolt (at about the 2 or 3 o' clock position)? I had my stock exhaust clamp break off there about a few weeks ago and it looks like there is a rubber part that physically bolts behind a trans bellhousing bolt and is somewhat attached to a 3" regular guillotine exhaust clamp. Being that this is factory I was wondering if the Stan's system utilizes this same style clamp in that area of the downpipe or they just use a different setup from the designers at Stan's. Thanks.

The rubber isolated piece is held on with the clamp. Take the clamp off and its free.

I am fairly positive you 2wd guys could run an out of the box 2nd gen system. You would have to make and/or modify the hangers though, and get the cast elbow.

I got mine in the box waiting for me to be ready for it. I lift the 440 out of the frame tomorrow on the project in my sig. I can't wait to start building. I called stan's directly and asksed about the muffler delete. The guy was really nice and helpful, but he did not really want to talk about it. Instead, he sold me on the muffler.

By the way, I called at 1:00pm on a Wednesday and it was on my porch when I got home from work on Thursday.
