Smoked my clutch

So I spent this past Friday night prepping my truck for an annual mud bog we have here. Apparently, what with some twisting and turning of various screws and with Denny T's help I unlocked too much power ( is there such a thing??), because 2 truck lengths into the pit I smoked my clutch pretty good. Any suggestions on which clutch to put in? I doubt I'll ever build this truck past 400hp. (LOVE that fuel pin btw)

I would love a chance to try pulling, but we don't get events like that up here in NE BC. Pardon my ignorance, but does a clutch get more 'undriveable' the stouter it is?

Sounds like you could go for a Southbend Con-OFE.

I think a CON-FE (stouter) would be great for you but... if you say your not going over 400HP you won't really need it.

People with CON-FE's have'nt really complained... Not that i've heard anyway.

I thought the sachs clutch was good up to 350hp and don't know how much torque.

pwrtripls on this forum put in his DDP4 injectors on his cranked up 92 and burned up his stocker clutch 5 minutes later.

I'd vote for a good local button clutch dealer. Something along the lines of a 6 button 13" disc, beefed up Sach's cast iron pressure plate. Ballpark of $500-$600.

If you are going to use the truck for towing a lot, a button clutch is a little grabby. The Con-OFE is a good recommendation if the truck is going to be towing much.
