Seats...
I am looking to upgrade the horrible aftermarket seats in the ole' girl and have a couple of questions.
Many of you put 2nd gen. seats in, do they have seat belts in the seat itself? Are there any newer years out there that do not have belts in the seats, I sure would love not to have redundant belts and it sounds like dealing with the comp. in those that do can be a hassle.

The 2nd gens went to integrated belts in 98 i think on extended cabs. My dads 02 still has the belts attached in the regular manner since it is a regular cab.
I like my factory captains chairs better than my dads 02 seats.

If I were upgrading seats, I'd do Baja-style race seats with wide 5-point harnesses. Very safe and not too expensive. Some of those racing seats are INCREDIBLY comfortable.

I have seats from a '95 in my truck
I used mid '70's ramcharger seat brackets (they fit the contour of the floor
) I had to do a little reworking of the '95 slide rails, like removing all the original brackets and redrilled some holes so they would bolt to thr RC's brackets. Also made some custom mounts for the console.
By the way anyone trying this, if you are fairly tall, over 6 feet, you will have to trim about 2" of height from the RC's brackets...otherwise your head will hit the roof

Do the RC seats enable you to tilt the 2nd gen seats forward to access the back? The aftermarket junk I have in mine are horrible, they make it almost impossible to get in back.
You would have to use the passenger side bracket with the latch loop on the floor to do that.
Hmmm...I can see that working on an extended cab
Would have to create something different than I did to hold the console in
BTW I'd put some pic's of my setup here but I don't have a digital camera (yet) or the know how to post them
