Heated Seats?

Anybody else who's gotten the Laramie package, did you get the heated seats? I've got a brochure that says they're standard and even has a picture of the controls - but mine doesn't have them - it's got the power leather and a useless cubby in the dash where the controls should be. Before I call the dealer, does anybody else know for sure that these are standard? Thanks!

Re:Heated Seats?

Sorry LonCray, Heated seats is a $140 option on the Laramie. Go to http://www.dodge.com/, select "Build Your Dodge". On step 4, the page where you select engine and tranny is listed under Comfort and Convenience: "Heated Front Seats $140". :'( :'( :'(

Re:Heated Seats?

Thanks for the reply Phil! Too bad for me but that's what I get for ordering it before all the information was out. :

Re:Heated Seats?

I've been looking at the info from Dodge for about a month. It looks like the seat should come with the heat option in the Laramie package. The heat option is an option when you order the leather seats outside of the Laramie package. I think.

I also think the seat are different. There is a suede insert on the seat in the Laramie package and no suede in the non-Laramie package.

Re:Heated Seats?

Sierra Phil is correct. The heated seats are an option on the Laramie package, they do not come standard.

Re:Heated Seats?

The heated seat is an option either way. I ordered my Laramie and had to add on for the heated seat. The Laramie also has a ram head embosed in to the seat that the SLT leather seat doesn't.

Re:Heated Seats?

Things must have changed. I just looked at the Kelly Blue book otions and it indicated the heated seats were part of the Laramie package. Once I send this I will go look at the Dodge web site.

On the Dodge site it is an option. I will know now I need to order them.

I think the package has change and I would fight to have the dealer try to do something.

Re:Heated Seats?

Well, the Dodge '03 Commercial Trucks brochure seems to indicate they're standard (and not late availability like the 6-CD in-dash radio), and even shows a Laramie dash that has the switches on it. The '03 Trucks brochure does NOT mention them as standard. I had heard that there was a hold on heated seats earlier this year slowing up delivery of the new HD's - that's why I was wondering if they just built mine without them to get it out the door? Considering the fun I'm having with the rest of the truck, it's not that big a deal, but I was kinda looking forward to keeping my rear warm on cold mornings.

Re:Heated Seats?

I have a friend with an 2000 with heated seats. It would be worth a small fit in the dealers showroom to have them on cold mornings.

I think there is enough different information that your dealer should help you out. Do you have the suede insert in the seats with the Ram?

Re:Heated Seats?

Well if you really want them get a set of aftermarket butt warmers. Easy install, made by the company who supplies OEM, 3/36 warranty, and work well. I didn't want to get raped for a Laramie package but wanted heated seats so that is the route I took. Private me for the company if you like. Later
