Seat replacement 93 D350

i've got the above truck with a tired bench seat. Looking to replace possibly with a 2nd gen bench seat.

Does anyone know if this is a easy match?

I recently read that a conversion to newer truck seats may not work well in a single cab truck. If that is the case, I'm stuck with my old bench seat unless seats out of some kind of vehicle will work.

I'm pretty sure a couple people have used my frame sketch to get a 2nd gen seat in their regular cab. Might have to alter things a wee bit, but should get you close.

The only problem with putting a second gen seat in a reg cab truck is you would have to be a Midget because there won't be very much leg room left .

i still have the original style bench in mine, i drove it like that forever until i got back in it after driving my new truck. i found the bench sat really low, so i made a seat "lift kit" 6" x 2" rectangular tubing and bolted it between the seat and the floor, more legroom, feels like the whole trucks higher and way easier at the drivethrus in a 2wd

I built cow's seat frame for my crew and it fit really well, but in the end I took it out too put a set of chev seats in it with the seat belts built into the seats. I am going to put the second gen seats and cow's seat frame in my d-250 single cab. I think I'm gonna try to use the bench seat mounts and try to get them to fit good in a single cab

Keep us updated on how that goes, Bryson. I'm interested in using 2nd gen seats or maybe even Chevy seats with the built-in belts as well. I'm only 6ft tall but my legs are fairly short (damnit). I'm not sure just how much newer truck seats will change leg room as simplysmn described. I've also wondered about adapting the bench seat frame to fit newer seats instead of building a frame to fit the newer seats.

My '91.5 has 2" risers that the PO installed under the bench brackets just as 19mike92 did to his. I've only driven it a couple of times since I've owned it so I can't say I've noticed the difference between it and my '90. I just might swap them into my '90 and see what that does for leg room though.

I think the chevy seats would take a lot of modding to get them to fit in a single cab. They were super easy to mock up into my crew though but it has a pretty flat floor in the front. It will be a few months before I try to put cows frame in my single cab. I will update when I do it. I hope the fit good cause I hate not having a console/armrest in it. The chev seats I put in the crew are out of a 2007

fitting the second gen seat's in a reg cab is Tight but Jim being your on the Short side of thing's you should be Ok just make sure you move it as far back as possible .
I love the second gen seat's that I put in my crewcab driver's side being power makes it nice if for some reason a short person ever drives my truck they will be able to move seat foward .
