rust on roof

rust on roof

ok what is the deal with this and what is the best way to fix it cant do a paint job right now baby due in nov and little girl starts school soon pic in profile time to get back to work now

That's not the scary roof rust, it's just surface rust. You could fix that up by sanding, priming, and using rattle can touch-up paint. It's on the roof so it's not like most people will notice.

My roof rust was worse than yours. After about 40 mins of sanding, I hit it with some primer and went to the local pep boys. I found a paint that is really close to the stock color - you have to know what you're looking for to tell it's different. Turns out it was a touch up color for an import car. Looks better than rust and costs less than a paint job .

Had to get some repainting done on my 93 D350. When the windshield was removed they discovered rust inside the roof panels. Repaired as best they could. Not as bad as some. Recommend you take that sunvisor off. I think that is what is partially to blame............
