Rotating the fuel pin 90*

Im doing this mod right now,Ive read the sticky, ive watched the video.Seems one thing I havnt seen or hasnt been mentioned is that plastic collar that rides up on top of the fuel pin, under the diaphram. Is this a neccesary part? somthing cummins through in ther for detuning?

leave it alone or discard?

thanks,Mike.

dont remove it. look on the fuel pin to see how high up its moving and shorten it so it moves right to the top of the pin but not enought that it rides onto the radis at the top of the taper.ken

Also don't do 90 degrees. Look at where it was set and turn it to the deepest side. I may have already been close to it. I had 1 truck ( stock as stock can be ) and it was only about 20 degrees from deepest to begin with.
