temp sensor?

I see what looks like a temp sensor screwed into the head
just aft of the fuel filter. What sensor is this?

I thought the sensor at the very back, left side of the head was the temp sensor?
Is one for the guage and the other for the PCM perhaps?

PCM sensor is by the filter and is only on automatic trucks.
