On the Road Again,......Video,..

Well after a long snowy winter,..I finally got Big Ed out of the shop on Friday. I worked on it most of the week getting a long list of stuff done including:

New POD's, No Haze, Smoke on take off and cleans up nicely.
Re dong the Intake Manifold, 2-1/4" to 3" inlet.
New air compressor for the air horn system,
Adding a Boost Pressure switch for the Propane system and getting that going.
Installing a new Lighted License Plate frame for the rear bumper.
New Back Up Lights on the hitch.
Replacing the K&N filter with a BHAF
Oh Yea, new Cummins Badges on the front fenders....

I will be getting the 4:10's swapped out for the 3:55's starting on Wednesday.

Now that I am driving it I am coming up with other bugs that I have to fix:

Heater Core is starting to leak
Alternator is charging,....sometimes,..
High oil Pressure is lower than last year.
Adjust the kick down for the Trans,
Adjust the Throttle Cable, still not getting WOT
Adjust the Propane System
Mess with the GV so the driver has more control of when it shifts.

There is always something!,..

Anyway My brother took a couple of videos, HERE is a link to them since I dont' know how to post them here,...

Nice Ride. That's got to be a huge upgrade from the 7.3 non turbo.

Thanks for the comments guys! It is defiantly an upgrade than the 7.3 but it did have a Banks Turbo setup on it with Propane Injection so it did run pretty strong. It could beat any stock PSD, but now it runs even better.

I may turn up the pump a little more because does clean up when the turbo kicks in so I think I have some room to play. I want to watch the EGT's for while first.

Thanks, The fender flares are a product that Lund made in the late 80's early 90's for conversion trucks that the dealer could offer. They are very rare and I have only seen them on one other full size truck. The made them for Rangers as well and they were a little more popular.

I saw them on a truck at the Dealer Auction, they were on a pimped out 87 F150 4x4 that was all beat up but the front and rear flares were perfect. So I bought the truck for $800.00, removed the flares and stuck them in my garage and sold the truck for $1500.00. (I am a car dealer, it's sorta what I do) That is where they came from.

Good eye on the TurboDiesel badge,.. when I redid the truck the hood scoop was fully functional with the Banks Turbo Box, but now with the Cummins it is just a cool air vent for now,..

The trans is a pretty well built C6, I installed a low stall Towing RV Torque Converter when I did the Cummins Swap. It actually bangs in the gears pretty firmly but without a lock up converter it the RPMs don't drop like I would like them to. I also need to adjust the aftermarket Kick Down cable so it will let it shift a little sooner. The GV kicks in at the end of the video that needs to be adjusted as well,.

Just some more bugs to work out.

I just dropped off the truck to get the gears swapped out from 4:10 to 3:55's. Limited slip in the rear with a Detroit Locker in the Dana60 front. The Cummins likes to work at a lower RPM's than the old IDI did.
