On the road again

I've been working on the truck for the last week and a half, here's what I did.

installed guages, turned the fuel screw 2 turns, 1 ton rear brake job,
rear airbags , poly control arm bushings, poly cab mounts, and got the seat recovered.

Next comes the power pin and Gov spring, I can get 15 psi boost and egt is 1200.

kinda low on boost if you turned the main screw in 2 turns and have 1200 egt and only 15 lbs of boost? Sounds like a leak going on somewhere?

I recently had the boots off for an inspection and they looked okay,
I guess it's time to pull the I/C for a leak test.
How much boost should I be getting?

With a 21 cm housing and stock exhaust the boost and EGT numbers sound about right to me. It's time to upgrade that turbo.

Should I upgrade the turbo first or do the power pin and 3200 gsk ?

I took it out for another test run tonight, I got 18 # of boost this time,
I was getting 15 yesterday. Could colder outside air temps result in more boost? Not sure why this happened.

Jim- I take it that you have the stock turbo on the truck? If so, you ought to at least put a 16 cm turbine housing on there. That'll give you another 5-6 psi and drop the EGT by about 250-300 degrees. Then you can add more fuel - and use it!

Okay then, my next mod will be the 16cm housing.

Thanks to all at DTR for the CTD information, I've learned alot this year so far.

Ive got the 18.5 cm housing and with about 2 turns on the full fuel screw I could get around 21 psi boost with EGTs maxing out at about 1050. Now with the AFC ground, 3200 spring, and even with the timing bumped I can get about 24 psi boost and EGTs of about 1150, 1200 if I really push it.

I just got a 16 cm from a 2 gen friend that went with Banks a few yrs ago.

Where do I find the flange for exhaust (my OE doesn't have waste gate)

will the WG be counter productive, or do I block off or re-adjust?

If it needs a flange and has a wastegate it isn't a 16 cm, it's a 12 cm.
