replacing head gasket

R12 is out of reach expensive. I converted to 134a several years ago and will probably continue with it. I mounted the new condenser but I couldn't fill the system because they didn't include a new gasket with it. And of course my supplier didn't have one in stock. I will do all that friday.

Wide open throttle I got 38 pounds boost without drugs, respectable smoke initially fading to a strong haze and 1600 degrees pre turbo in about five seconds or so. I need more air. guess my next project will be aimed at the turbo and intercooler. I believe I got all I can from that H1C.
I have been talking about it ever since I installed those stage 3 injectors. Time to get serious.

The H1C has the HTT Stage 4 compressor and housing. With the proper mix of meth and water I can get 43 pounds but it doesn't cool the egt's very much. It just takes longer to hit 1600 degrees.

Another question, lol, as I don't see much folks on here with water injection- what boost pressures are you having your spray come on initially, then at what pounds boost do you have it set for full spray?
I have the Snows original kit from 2006, and have one 325 and one 625 size nozzles. I have my progressive controller to initially come on at around 15 psi boost and full spray at around 22-25 psi boost.
Have never run true 50/50 water methanol. Only WW fluid, or straight water.

Are you running the Snow's kit? What size nozzles are you running, and how many? Just curious, Boatnick, what are your thoughts on running plain water, or windshield wash fluid?

Latest update: The head gasket work turned out just fine. The valves are quiet and engine is running smooth as silk. However, the little things are biting me in the hips.
The timing pin went for a trip without the truck and dumped a mess of oil in the engine room. Of course I never use it anyway but it does stem the tide when the engine is running. I found a 3/4 inch freeze plug and it has held on with some serious thrashing so far.
Next, one of the transmission cooling lines got a hole rubbed in the bottom over the cross member under the engine. A neoprime hose and a hose clamp have made a temporary fix. Had to replace a couple hangers to keep that from happening again. Planning on adding an aftermarket cooler anyway so that will be repaired at that time.
And finally I lost power to my a/C compressor clutch.
All will be fixed in due time but it sure put a dent in the celebration.

When I was running the turbo as it is today on the stock exhaust manifold I got a 8 pound boost running 50/50 H2O/meth to about 43 pounds. After installing the after market manifold it goes to 38 pounds without H2O/meth and 43 with. Increasing the methanol a little raised the boost to 45 but it started to ping and that was when i lost my original head gasket. As I said before, I think I have gotten all that H1C has to offer by it self.
