A slide hammer works awesome.

Just weld a nut that fits the injectors to a nut that fits the slide hammer. Two or three taps and the injector pops right out.

Wanna hit the nail on the head, slide hammer worked great on mine as well. The hole removal and install was easier than I was expecting.

I thought that you put a towel over the engine, disconnected the fuel lines, and cranked the starter?

Don't laugh, but I just had an injector in a 1066 tractor, DT414 IH, that was so bad I had to hook the line to it and start the engine with the hold down removed and still had a terrible time prying it loose.

Why wouldn't it? That isn't common practice?

I read about it on here, now I'm gonna have to go and find where...

I used a 1" diameter bt 4" long pipe nipple, a piece of 1/2" all thread 8" long two washers, and one of those allthread nuts.(the long nuts used to hold two pieces of all thread together) Everything cost about 5 bucks at tractor supply.
Put the pipe over the nipple, screw the nut onto the injector, then the allthread into the other end of the nut, then put the washers and tighten down on the nut and it should pull the injector right out. Worked for me. I tried the slidehammer, but mine was stuck to good. Compression from the motor runningwasn't even enough to pop it out.
Goodluck,
Aaron

OK, so the "injectors" in a 12 valve are actully just nozzles.
A slide hammer works good.
The problem is what does it take to pull them out?
I believe the nozzles are 14MM.
A9/16 coarse thread will thread onto the nozzle.
A slide hammer with a 9/16 nut will thread onto the nozzle an pull it out.
I wont try to make this to complicated.
Most shops will stock 1/2" and 5/8" nuts and bolts.
If you find somewhere that stocks 9/16 bolts than buy a 9/16 coarse or "uss" nut.
If you weld that nut to your slide hammer than you can pull your nozzles out.
If you are really patient, you might just buy the nut, thread it on and use a heal bar and pull the nozzle out.
If you are wanting to pull the nozzles. I would suggest, spray any kind of penatrating oil or lube past the nozzles, every day, for a month before you pull them.
Just my 2 cents.!!
