Relax it's a Cummins

I wrote the post a while back titled "Don't Do This". Well just wanted to let the forum know Cummins stood behind their mistake. They checked it out addmitted their mistake and took responsibility for it. You just can't ask more of a company than that. They could have turned their back on my 92 Cummins and walked away. They chose to stand up and do the right thing. I guess I know what engine I will always get in my trucks. They sure made a believer in me.

I am proud of them and will spread the word as to what kind of a company they are..........GREAT!!!

That is great news. I felt really bad for you after cummins misinformed you...it actually really annoyed me that they would do something like that, but now that they have covered their behinds its great news!

Yep restored my faith in Cummins. I plan to tell as many people as I can about how they stand behind not only their product but their people.

The guy at Cummins actually admitted after he thought about it and checked his records that it in fact was he I had talked to. He didn't have to do that either. He appologized and said they would make good on the bill.

He kept saying they do this all the time and in fact the factory does it to make settings. He said they have used this methiod millions of time without a problem. I told him they should stop telling people that because at least in this case it didn't. After checking his notes he found I had a 92 Cummins. He said he made a mistake. That methiod won't work on the 92'. He said it does on the 93' because of a change in the pump. Again he apologized for the misinformation.

Like you said can't ask for anything better than that. We all make mistakes but real men own up to them and make the correction.

All this does is solidify my being a Cummins owner for life. I like dealing with honest people.

Any idea what the changes were to the pump on the 93's?

I know not of what I speak so don't take my word for it. I got the info just in passing as we were talking about the my pump problem. I think the change was a different nut and shaft on the later model. Again don't do it on my say. They told me on the 93 it is standard practice to turn it over using the pump nut. I don't know about any other year.

Remember it won't work for sure on the 92. Anything else get more info than what I am giveing you. I'm just telling you what I was told.
