rear Disc brake kits?? wich is best?
OK let me preface this with, YES I HAVE CHECKED THE STICKY!
I am deciding on a rear disc brake conversion and am wondering if there is any other outfits that have complete kits like EGR brakes. I like the EGR kit and it looks like it comes with everything I need, but for hub seals and bearings. Is this true?
Are there any other kit makers out there? who would you choose? looking for the most complete kits possible!
Thanks!

If you search I uses the great lake off road brackets. I was able to get it all together for less than $300 (under $260 actually) the downside is that the way I did it you lose the parking brake... But I plan to set up a driveline brake. I gave a complete parts list in the thread if you search for it.

You'll need to fashion a mounting bracket for the axle end of the flex lines. You'll also need to come up with the parking brake cable should you go that route.
The EGR kit is basically the parts needed and the means to mount a set of '75ish Cadillac Eldorado's rear calipers as they came OEM with the parking brake feature. The weight of the vehicles are similar so that helps. The idea is to not have to mess with the proportioning valve and stuff.
The rotors are supposedly from a 2500 series Ferd (the inner bore being modified to fit our OEM axle hubs). You pretty much knock out the lug bolts, swap drums to rotors, and drive the lug bolts back in.
In my messing with it, I found there are a few folk who make sets of brackets.
For example ~ http://www.blackbirdscustomtrucks.com/index19.html
Just do a google ~ http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...ake+conversion
Hope this helps.

I used Miciahfieds parts list and it worked out well. (Thanks Bud) Then I built a driveline brake off the back of the transfercase that I'm still sorting out but that's a whole other story. There are driveline brakes available that use a disk and mechanical caliper (seems like high angle driveline has one IIR) that look pretty easy to install.

I know there is a place in Colorado that sells their own kit with or without e-brake cables. I think it's in Castle Rock. I know Sam Ayers (ASA intakes) has a kit on his ramcharger.
I'll try to find the number.

That kit looks a WHOLE lot like the EGR kit. I wonder what's up there?
They do give a good brake-down on which calipers do what where ~ http://www.tsmmfg.com/Ordering_Examples_3.htm
It's interesting they all seem to be within $100 or so of one another.

i bought the egr kit and if i had it to do over id get the tsm kit or get the brackets from someone off pirate and piece it together.
the rotors are modified late 80s ford 250 or 350 (fronts) with the stud seats bored out. you can grind off a little bit of the studs and make them fit in the stock rotors.
