Ramcharger front axle??

Ramcharger front axle??

I was looking and found a wrecked out 92 ramcharger 4X4. My question is what front end is in this thing? Could I use it in making my truck 4x4 if i matched the gear ratio to the rear??

If you plan on doing any 4wd launches i wouldn't use it... Its a dana 44 or a spicer 60. If it has the axle disconnect vacuum servo on the axle tube it's a dana.

AFAIK they all used Dana 44's. The weight of the Cummins will be tough on it, that's why our trucks have D60's up front.

dana and spicer are the same company
spicer is the drivtrain division of dana

No Dana 60s (front OR rear) ever installed from the factory on a Ramcharger. They're all 1/2 ton trucks.

Most Ramchargers have a Dana 44 front and a Corporate 9 1/4 (or 8 3/4 if it's a real early one) rear diff.

Spicer doesn't make differentials. Spicer is a subsidiary of Dana Corp. and they make parts for Dana.
