Radiators
Well I put the new radiator in last week. I got it recored for 450 bucks and just reused the old tanks.
Here is my new problem
I put it all together went in great took it down the road 15 mins and it went all the way up to hot and then stayed there wouldnt come down so i tore it all down again thinking i put something together wrong but i dont think i did.
I heard it could still be air locked but after running it down the road again tonight it went up to hot then stayed there again. I drove it for like 20 mins came back radiator wasnt hot and i took the cap off and coolant was still cold and it hasnt gone down at all after filling it up.
Some friends of mine said it could be the water pump but nothing is leaking and also they said it could be the head gasket i did see a little weeping by the head but i thought it would of been worse if the head gasket went.
So any help would be greatly appreciated i have no idea.
I saw a thread that the non intercooled motors have more of a tendacy to blow a head gasket??
Thanks. Kyle

I don't think the Napa brand has the proper hole in it. In the Cummins t-stat there is a little air bleeder with a valve type thing to help bleed the air and I don't believe the Napa one has it, and if it does it's not right.
Ohh i see I will get a cummins one asap i hope that fixes it.
Does any one have a pic or diagram of how it should be set in there. I am 99% sure i put it in right just using common sense but then again i am a poor mechanic.
Thanks for the help.

Well i think i got her fixed
The cummins thermostat is definitely the way to go i think i have a little bit of air in there but definitely doesnt overheat.
Goes up to the middle then will go down to the 2nd hashmark thats what it did before so i think i got it fixed.
Thanks so much for the help and suggestions. I appreciate it.
It was so nice to get back in the old truck.
