radiator options

My 93 runs a bit worm on hot days with the A/C and of course towing. What upgrade options are there for the older trucks? I was thinking aluminum and larger, just looking for a drop in that is better than OEM.

thanks,

I am having the same problem. I talked to a radiator shop here in Okla City. He said I could put in a 4 row high efficiency brass radiator. He said aluminum is better but it may crack, he said brass would be better and more durable. (I wanted a 5 row but don't have enough room). The cost would be around $400.00. I'm on the road a lot, I'm a full time RVer. I need something that's reliable.

Hey Hippie,
Hows it going?
I would like more info on that 4 row radiator, The local shop here said they only make 1 radiator for that truck
One of my trucks runs quite warm. I would like max cooling

I haven't looked, but if the tanks are wide enough on your radiator a shop can take the existing core out and put a 4 core or high efficiency 3 core on your own tanks. 400 seems a little expensive though.

I had rather pay a little more and know I won't have a problem with it on some two lane road in the mountains. I depend on my old truck to get me and the trailer around some out of the way places. I figured I get what I pay for. I rather be safe than sorry.

Hey Frosty, How's it going. I'm about the same, still woundering all around the country. I sure like that 6 speed. It makes shifting from a stop on a hill a lot better than that old Getrag. I also have a South Bend that's rated for 400 HP. I don't think I'll get that much out of the old girl. ( Price of fuel ) I'm in Okla right now but come Oct I'll be heading back to southern Ca. About 70 miles west of Yuma. Everybody asked why don't I get a new truck instead of putting money into that old truck. Hump... I told them I like my old truck and it's paid for... Take care my friend and I'll see ya alter,,,

The guy that owns the radiator shop here in Oklahoma City said he can get a 4 row. The shop is called Womack's Phone number is 1-405- 632-3663. Ask for Dale... He is also getting me a new intercooler that's mounted in rubber that's more efficient than the stock one. Now that will cost me $$$$$$$$$$$...
