Radiator Exchange ?

I have a 1990 d350 w/ a old rad., have a 1992 d250 w/ new rad. What problems will i encounter if i try to swap the 92 rad., into the 1990?

The 92 intercooled rad mounts completely different, and the top hose connections is opposite side. Check rockauto for pics.

To use the later rad, you ALSO will need...

Fan hub.
Clutch fan
Fan shroud
Upper radiator neck and hose
Different mounts on the core support for the radiator or swap out the core support.

if you swap out the core support the grille and lower valence will need to be swapped too.

Thank you Oliver,i will have everything i need from the doner trk. I want to replace the water temp. sender also but not sure if i need a 27mm or 30 mm socket ( what are these in standard sockets?), owe more coffee.

Might be easier to just swap over the whole rad support and then relocate the headlight buckets to line up with your 90 grille.

Since you have the donor truck, imho, swap all the parts to make it work.

The upper water neck (to point the other way) is readily available aftermarket... if you don't want to pillage that off your otherwise complete IC engine.

Hey Kevin, to be honest, by the time i flushed my old rad, (3 times),and installed a new temp sensor everything is working fine. But i still want to swap the whole 92 rad. package, later this year.
