Quick Brake question - Rear Wheel Cylinder
Quick Brake question - Rear Wheel Cylinder
Ok, got a 92 1 ton dually...assisted and more experienced about a year ago in doing the brake job and that whole pull out the axle thing was a bit daunting for me...So, what all is involved in R&R on a rear wheel cylinder? I push the brake and it dribbles out from under the drum/hub so I assume I am thinking correctly in assuming most LIKELY it's a cylinder...Driver's side if that makes a difference.
If so (on the axle question), is there a guide or something on doing this, it looked kinda like something that was not for an amateur.

PS> The transmission is finally PRETTY good...for those who remember.

If it were my problem I would take it to a good brake shop and let them mess with the job of dismantleing the year axle. I was amazed at how fast they could do the job. But of course they do that every day.
There's a link to an article about pulling the drums in the sticky. It's really not that bad, the only special tool you need is the 2 9/16" socket.

The Chevy cylinder bolts in - just make sure you do both sides.
