questions

Ok new here and to 1st gens. Had some 2nd gens so i know I can figure it out just need a little help.

Question 1.
The potentiometer replaces the TPS and even allows me to vary when my OD comes on but.....is this assumeing only if everything else is working correctly?
Meaning TPS is only problem and VSS ect is good.

Question 2.
If I do the pressure switch fix for the OD does it even look for anything else to shift OD in?

I have the good ol OD maybe yes maybe no thing going on and just want to know if I need to do both.

No just do the Potentiometer and it reaplaces the TPS and you hook up the switch and you adjust it to when you want it to kick in. yes as long as everything else works besides the TPS.

The pressure switch is not adjustable from the cab while driving...With the POT you can adjust it on the fly.... With either option, you loose the "Kickdown" function of the TPS..It will only shift at it's setpoint.
I will say, with the POT, say you have it set to shift into O/D at say 38 MPH under light throttle, if you use that setting, it will hold 3rd gear longer under hard throttle.... Just will not downshift out of O/D for any reason untill you reach the low speed setting of the POT.

Look in the sticky, there is a real easy method to test/adjust your TPS.
it may just need adjusting(if your lucky)

Thanks,
I don't mind doing either one. I just wanted to make sure that once you go pressure switch for OD there is no reason to do the POD.
I think I am however going to do the POD first and put the new VSS in and where I am at.
Thanks for helping.
Mike
Ps jet100 how you like that TQ converter?? big difference?
